This amateur astronomy club in Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley meets at Hobbs Observatory and covers a broad spectrum of astronomical interests, from casual observing of the constellations to serious visual observing, astrophotography, astrometry, CCD imaging, computer control of telescopes, photometry, telescope building, and radio astronomy.

Our partner with the Wildlands Science Research School, the School District of Augusta comprises 250 square miles and includes the City of Augusta and all or part of seven surrounding townships.

A non-profit organization, the association is dedicated to protect and improve the water quality and fishery of Lake Eau Claire for the benefit of the general public and partners with the Citizen Science Center and Wildlands Science Research School on lake projects.

The purpose of LWIPA is to preserve and protect Lake Wissota and its surroundings and to enhance the water quality, fishery, boating safety, and the aesthetic value of Lake Wissota as a public recreational facility for future generations.
